Peter May - 10 apartments in Wells.
“Gavin secured me a planning permission for 10 apartments in Wells. I am certain that I could not have done this without him.
When I first went to the Council the Council, they told me that they would oppose planning permission for 6 units on the site. I then approached Gavin, and he eventually got permission for nearly twice this number.
It was a long fight, but he never lost confidence, and, despite problems in our way, secured the permission for 10 units. Things turned out exactly as he predicted they would.
His service was excellent value, and I would have no hesitation in recommending others to use him.
I am very much looking forward to pursuing more deals with him as soon as this development is finished.”
Richard Cook & Julie Mace - New house in Bristol
“Gavin obtained planning permission for us, for a new house next to our existing house.
We wanted to secure our retirement, and thanks to this planning permission, we are now able to do so.
We had applied for planning permission a few months prior, and received a refusal. This was when we contacted Gavin and decided to use his services.
He amended our proposal, helped us re-design it, and pursued the permission for a new house.
It was not easy, but despite local objections, the opposition of some Councillors, and the fact that permission had been refused once, Gavin secured the consent for us.
We have now built our new home and are living in it.
It would have saved us some wasted time if we had consulted Gavin at the outset, and we would recommend you to talk to him before applying for planning permission.”
Clinton McCleary - 6 flats in Bristol
“Gavin obtained planning permission for me, for 6 flats in a conservation area.
I had previously applied for flats on the site, but the Council told me they would refuse the permission. And the neighbours were very hostile, writing over 130 letters of objection.
Gavin helped me to re-design the proposal, and present it again.
It was a tough fight, with many problems put in our way. These included an order that the derelict site be treated as a listed building, threats of legal action, and a campaign from local residents. But we stuck to our plans, and secured the permission for 6 really good apartments. I have now nearly completed building them.
I am sure I could not have got such a valuable planning permission without his help, and I will have no hesitation using him again.
I have recommended him to friends, and would recommended anyone else to use his services.”
Mike Thursby - Office building with basement in Congresbury
“As an architectural technician for over 30 years, I have dealt with many planning applications, and dealt with a number of planning consultants. I had worked with Gavin previously, and decided to employ him on my own case.
He obtained planning permission for me, for an office building with a basement and shower underneath, on a separate plot of land which had previously been garden space.
I wanted to secure a substantial asset as a wedding gift for my son.
I had applied for planning permission years earlier, and been refused, and had taken the case to Appeal where I had been refused permission as well.
This was when I asked Gavin if he thought there was any hope of securing planning permission on my site.
He examined the proposal, and prepared the application. He really went to town on it, and despite local objections, and the fact that permission had been refused previously, secured the consent.
I was surprised how quickly it came through – in time for me to give it to my son on his wedding day.
Although I have yet to build the property, I am very glad to have secured the consent, and would recommend you to talk to Gavin before applying for your permission.”
Bernard & Karen Whalley - Extension in Broughton Gifford
“We wanted to extend our bungalow which is in a Conservation Area and all planning applications are vigorously scrutinised by our Parish Council. We experienced challenges and Gavin investigated the parameters of our case, visiting our house and worked with us to assist in obtaining planning permission.
Although the proposed project was not the largest of undertakings it was important to us and had its sensitivities in relation to legislation. Gavin demonstrated knowledge and understanding that we felt was required to achieve success. It was his experience combined with efficiency that impressed us in the undertaking, giving us confidence to continue with his recommendations.
We had already applied for permission a few months earlier, and had been refused. It was following this disappointment that we contacted Gavin and, having studied the background to our requirement, he amended our proposals to those that he felt the District Council would find hard to refuse, made recommendations, introduced and then briefed an architect to undertake the new drawing work.
As a result the new application went through without hitch and; as he confidently predicted, Gavin secured the consent for us.
We are now looking forward to producing the detailed design drawings, regulations work and then commencing the building work proper.
We cannot speak too highly of the advice and recommendations Gavin provided for our project and would recommend you seriously consider contacting him early in your thinking processes seeking friendly, personal and professional advice before starting work on your planning application.” |
